Learn Something New Right From Home

18th June 2020

After months of being stuck inside your The Victor apartment, you’re likely itching to get out and about and see all that the area has to offer: restaurants, bars, clubs, art galleries and museums. As things slowly get back to normal, it may still be some time until we can all flock to our favorite hot spots—but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy some local arts and culture right from the comfort of your home.

Many of the area’s most famous museums have turned virtual, welcoming visitors through their digital doors to learn something new—and what better way to pass the time than by opening up your mind and getting energized about all the great venues you’re going to visit once the area is back up and running? A great place to start is with Philly’s historic district. While the neighborhood is just 10 minutes from your The Victor apartment normally, you don’t even have to go out anymore to enjoy all of the history of our area.

Through the Independence Visitor Center website, you can access many of the entertainment and education offerings of the historic district. For instance, hear the original sound of the Liberty Bell and listen to the broadcast of when the bell was struck on D-Day. Watch a full-length film spotlighting Philly history that showcases some of your favorite local sights and sounds. Tour the Museum of the American Revolution in a 360-degree virtual tour, offering you free access to all of the museum’s exhibits and galleries. Participate in live programs sponsored by the National Constitution Center, including town halls, educational seminars and more. Philly is a haven for historic education—and now it’s all right at your fingertips!

So pop open the laptop, put in some headphones and get ready to learn something new, without leaving your couch!
