Philly’s Premier Entertainment Venue is Back in Biz

7th September 2021

As the Philly area slowly reopens, we’re getting to get back to all of the things that make the city as awesome as it is: world-class restaurants, diverse shopping opportunities, history and cultural institutions. And right near your The Victor apartment, there are also plenty of entertainment venues to deliver all of the fun you’ve been missing over the last year-and-a-half: comedy clubs, theater performances and live concerts.

On the last front, one of the region’s best-known music and entertainment clubs is back in business. Located in nearby Fishtown, considered Philly’s hottest and most eclectic neighborhood, The Fillmore offers an entertainment experience as diverse as its surroundings. The venue is named after the iconic San Francisco club of the same name that hosted some of music’s biggest legends: Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Santana, Led Zeppelin and more.

The Philadelphia version offers three separate live entertainment experiences. There’s the main club, with an expansive stage and an arena that can fit 2,500 fans, along with The Foundry, which hosts emerging artists for crowds of up to 450, and the Ajax Hall bar that serves a full food and drink menu. As you take in the sounds of the shows, also enjoy the sights: concrete walls complete with graffiti that was left over the building’s more than century in existence, extravagant chandeliers and even a full-sized VW bus where you can buy artists’ merch.

Here are just a few of the shows coming through The Fillmore in the coming weeks:

  • Ron Gallo & Becca Mancari: Sept. 10
  • Nurse Blake: Sept. 12
  • Beartooth: Sept. 13
